We went for an ultrasound on Friday, March 3rd and a pregnancy was confirmed. It appears that Kona is carrying 3 or 4 puppies -- the perfect little litter. We are hoping that she stays healthy and keeps her puppies growing until her April 10th due date. We have a follow-up ultrasound on March 13th just to check on the little ones. I will try to post the picture of the 1 little baby we got from the vet during our visit -- it's so very cute!
And to take a step back, we bred our Kona to Thunder, a full (older) brother to our newest boy Gryffin. The breedings took place during the first week of February. We patiently waited for the 'pregnancy' results before we announced that the breeding even took place. Thunder is a beautiful boy owned by Sue Adams of Glory Days Bernese Mountain Dogs. He is sired by Barancourt v.d. Weyenberg of the Netherlands. We have great hopes for the babies of these beautiful dogs!
